Sydney’s own true story series since 2005. Straight forward storytelling at its best: real, raw and honest. Real people tell true stories of their own lives, live. Each Storytelling gathering is a celebration of unashamedly old fashioned storytelling.

Storytelling presents the finest first hand stories, drawing on tellers from Sydney’s rich artistic community of established and emerging writers, performers and artists, and ordinary folk with extraordinary stories to tell.

Past storytellers have included first hand experiences of convent life, pilots locking themselves out of cockpits, exhuming the family pet and keeping its skull, life as a life model, being fired, addictions, and rehab, cool room sex, exhuming uncles, funerals on acid, high school heroin hustlers, being tied up and robbed, and much more. Notable storytellers have included actress Virginia Gay, and international comedian DeAnne Smith, nominee for Best Show at this year’s Melbourne Comedy Festival and as seen on Good News Week.

Storytelling has appeared at Sydney Fringe Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival where it was named a Time Out Critics Choice, Performance Space, Peats Ridge Festival, Surry Hills Library, Imperial Panda Festival, Harvest Festival, the City of Sydney Late Night Library program and more.
